Our Vision
We strive to empower the members of our community who do not have the necessary resources to meet their own physical, mental or spiritual needs by providing holistic, relationship-based programs.
Our Mission
The Andrew P. Stewart Center exists to change lives by providing quality services to children, families, and the greater community.
A drive through the southeast Atlanta neighborhood of Reynoldstown is like a journey back in time, or a trip to a foreign land. The streets are narrow and cracked, the houses old and small. A few of the homes bear a fresh coat of paint and a pot of petunias on the porch, but in general there is little evidence here of the phenomenal prosperity that has gilded much of Atlanta over the past decade. Reynoldstown sits in the historical shadow of Atlanta's once-active mills. It initially sprung up to house freed slaves who were working on the railroad, then became a neighborhood of mill worker families. today, most of its residents are poor and many are elderly grandmothers, single mothers or even older siblings trying to raise children in troubled times. Truancy, drug addiction, gang involvement and teen pregnancy are the pitfalls that continually threaten the youth of Reynoldstown. The Andrew P. Stewart Center began in 1917 as the Stewart Goodwill center. It has a long history of serving people and telling them of a God who loves them very much. It has been at its current location in the heart of Reynoldstown since 1950.
