Values
We are a faith based nonprofit community organization
We are committed to providing a rich environment where children, youth, families,
volunteers and staff can grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically.
We strive to embody the organizational and personal growth we desire to foster
in others.
We are committed to the long-term viability of our community and its residents.
We seek to address the challenges present in our community.
Programs
After School Program - Provides academic support, spiritual
enrichment and growth opportunities for over forty elementary age
children. The program is distinct due to
its partnership with Mercer University’s Tift College of Education which
provides the Center with Master level education students that serve as tutors
throughout the year.
Summer Camp - The Center's day camp lasts two months and engages over sixty children in experiential
learning opportunities that focus on academic readiness, spiritual growth and
emotional maturity. The children participate in a VBS type curriculum along
with a reading program, art, music, recreation and educational travel.
Middle School
Program - Works to build young leaders by
providing opportunities for academic enrichment, spiritual growth and character
development. The students participate in
extracurricular academic projects, Bible study, service opportunities and
educational travel. Each semester the
students take part in numerous service projects such as serving meals at a
homeless shelter and working at a food pantry.
As the culmination of last year’s program, several of the students spent
the last week of May in Washington D.C. experiencing the nation’s capital.
Food Cooperative - Beginning in February 2012 the coop will provide community members with food,
nutrition education, health screenings, and a supportive community. The Coop's primary goal is to provide members with food security.
